BABBITT COATING (WHITE METAL COATING)

Babbitt coatings (White Metal coatings) are mostly used for bearing linings. Babbitt, (White Metal) coatings are preferred especially to allow shafts and cylinder journals to run problem-free inside bearings, and to prevent metal debris in the lubricating oil from damaging the shaft and the bearing.
